ENGLAND LEGEND SET TO BE NEXT HEAD COACH
STUART JAMES
ROONEY TO ARGYLE?

WAYNE Rooney is in line to become the new head coach of Plymouth Argyle with discussions believed to have taken place with the former England and Manchester United great.

The 38-year-old is keen to get back into management having been out of work since January, when he was sacked as manager of Birmingham City who, ironically, were relegated from the Championship after Argyle beat Hull City on the last day of the season.

Rooney's ill-fated spell lasted just 15 games at St Andrews, winning just twice, while he also has experience of managing Derby County and American MLS side DC United.

Now, he looks set for a return to the game as Argyle's head coach, according to the Daily Telegraph's Midlands football reporter John Percy, who also broke the news that Steven Schumacher was leaving Home Park for Stoke City, Ian Foster was to become the club's new head coach and that Foster was being sacked after such a disastrous spell in charge at Home Park.
