Nick Candy said he only spent about 20 days a year in the apartment at One Hyde Park, where service charges cost residents up to £161,000 a year, or £3,000 a week.

"I've got a penthouse in One Hyde Park, and I'm there like 20 days a year, and I pay the service charge [like] the guy who uses the pool every day," Candy said during a discussion about luxury properties in London.

Candy, 51, developed the block and acquired one of the flats for himself. The development has a private cinema, 21-metre lap pool, sauna, gym, golf simulator and wine cellar.
