Mixed reaction to plan for 10% cut in pesticide use on arable farms by 2030

Pesticide use on the UK's arable farms will be reduced by 10% by 2030 under new government plans to save bees and other pollinators.
Campaigners welcomed the news but expressed disappointment that the target did not apply to urban areas and parks.
Farmers will be encouraged to swap chemical interventions for integrated pest management, which can include using other plants to divert pests away from crops and relying on predators such as carnivorous beetles to keep pest numbers down.
There will also be penalties for irresponsible use of pesticides, and targets that take account of just how toxic a specific pesticide is, and how much of it is used.
