FROM NO GCSEs TO SECURING SPOT AT LONDON UNIVERSITY
THE deputy head of Stockton Sixth Form college has urged students not to panic ahead of tomorrow's GCSE results day
Students at Stockton Sixth Form College, which is part of the Atomix Educational Trust, achieved record A-level results last Thursday, with some of the highest grades in the country in Chemistry and Maths A-levels.
68% of students doing A-level Maths achieved the higher grades of A* to B, while 61% of Chemistry students achieved these higher grades.
Michelle Sugden, deputy head of centre, said that for a "small community college" the results have been "phenomenal".
She added the college is able to offer "greater flexibility" when it comes to entry requirements for certain courses and whatever students get in their GCSE results, they should "come and talk to us" about their next steps.
Michelle said: "The results have been particularly high across STEM and we've had record results across the board.
"As a smaller community college, we have more flexible entry requirements, so for us to deliver at that level is fantastic."
