There is belated support for Sam Pitroda, who resigned on Wednesday as chairman of Indian Overseas Congress, after his remarks on racial features stirred a controversy.

The support has come from an unlikely quarter with none other than the inscrutable West Bengal Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury backing Pitroda's views to the hilt.

Declared Ranjan, "We have Proto Australoids... Mongoloids... and Negrito class of people (in India). Hai to hai (It is how it is) ... in the demography of our country, regional features are different.
