As many as 17,473 of the 18,914 students were declared successful by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education at the SSC board exams conducted at 31 centres across the State in April, securing an overall passing rate of 92.38%.
Announcing this at a news conference on Wednesday, Goa Board Chairman Bhagirath Shetye stated that the girls had fared better than the boys at the SSC exams.
