Cabinet nod to ₹38,000 cr fertilizers subsidy during Rabi 2025-26 season

The Union Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Department of Fertilizers for fixing the Nutrient Based Subsidy (NBS) rates for Rabi season 2025-26 on Phosphatic and _ Potassic (P&K) fertilizers.
The Cabinet said the tentative budgetary requirement for Rabi season 2025-26 — that began on October 1, 2025 and would go on up to March 31, 2026 -- would be approximately Rs. 37,952.29 crore. This is approximately Rs. 736 crore more than the budgetary requirement for Kharif season 2025.
