Alarm at rise in 'designer cats' given up by struggling owners

AN RSPCA branch has seen a steep rise in "designer cats" coming into its care as owners struggle to cope.
Around 10% of rescued cats since January have been pedigrees with British shorthairs, ragdolls and Persians among unwanted pets. The RSPCA in Canterbury, Kent says buyers are not coping with the cats' demanding traits.
