Modern auditing practices key to good governance: Guv

Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati Friday stressed the need for transforming auditing practices to meet the demands of modern governance.
Speaking at the valedictory ceremony of the 5th Audit Week at Jayadev Bhawan, he said, “Modern auditing must be analytical, technology-driven and future-oriented, supported by data analysis, risk-based assessments and innovative tools to improve scrutiny of public spending and financial systems.”
Calling the shift from transactional to systemic auditing ‘essential’, the governor said the role of audit has expanded far beyond checking accounts.
