North Devon miss big chance to enjoy a win

|North Devon Journal
NORTH Devon captain Jack Moore was left to ponder on where it went wrong after is bottom-of-the-table side got into a potentially winning position against Cornwood and lost.
The Wood's total of 201 for seven in a rain-affected game reduced to 39 overs each looked under threat when North Devon were 137 for two in reply. Former Devon batters Dan Bowser and Jack Moore got the Instow outfit into a challenging position.
Losing three middle-order wickets for just eight runs scuppered North Devon's prospects and they collapsed to 180 all out and a 23-run defeat.
Thanks to the Duckworth-Lewis System, North Devon were actually chasing 204 to win, not that it made a great deal of difference in the final totting-up. Defeat leaves North Devon 27 points adrift at the bottom of the table with just one win so far.
Said Moore: "I thought we probably controlled the game for a good 60 overs of the 80 played but, unfortunately, in the pressure moment we couldn't find a way to capitalise. That has been the story of our season so far.
"It was a disappointing end result after an awesome bowling performance in tough conditions against a couple quality players."
