FRIGHTENINGLY REAL VIDEOS CIVIL WAR DAINGER..

MON DIEU Fake footage of the Louvre break-in

Dan Purcell, the CEO of anti-piracy and protection service Ceartas, said it's now nearly impossible to determine what is real content and what has been created by a computer.

He also said the "technically illiterate" may see something Al-generated online, take it at face value and tell all their friends - creating an echo chamber in the process.

Dan also reckons that computer-created content is being weaponised by those on the left and right in order to further their own narrative.

He said: "On the internet, perception is reality. We unfortunately live in a world now where people are not necessarily seeking truth, they're seeking narrative. They want to strengthen their narrative.

"They will use Al to suit narratives even if they know it's not real."

Most Al videos come from Sora 2, which was created by the developers of ChatGPT, or Google's Veo 3.

Both Sora 2 and Veo 3 are powerful pieces of software that generate ultra-realistic videos solely from text and image prompts.

The videos can then be downloaded and posted to social media.

Dan said in these situations he often thinks of the technically illiterate, such as his own dad.

He explained: "If my dad comes across a video of something egregious or someone who he might politically subscribe to doing something, he's not going to turn around and be like, 'That's AI - that's a deepfake generated video from Sora!' He doesn't know what Sora is.
