Minister looks at 3D tech to tackle the housing crisis

IRELAND could tackle its property crisis by printing new homes, the Irish Mirror has learned. 

Housing Minister Darragh O’Brien is keeping a keen eye on a development in Britain being built using 3D technology.

Irish company Harcourt Technologies (HTL.tech) is behind the project that will see 46 “eco-homes”, a mix of houses and apartments in Lancashire.

A source close to Mr O’Brien told the Irish Mirror the minister is interested in the technology, along with other new modern methods of construction or MMCs.

These include extremely comfortable and complete prefabricated homes which are then assembled on-site.

Mr O’Brien has also visited factories where he has seen manufacturing of the cast concrete and panelised timber frames that are then dropped at housing sites.
