MAN SUFFERED MULTIPLE CUTS TO THE BACK OF HIS HEAD'

- By MARK NAYLOR

SCENES of "horrific" and "horrendous" violence suddenly erupted at a restaurant during a frightening confrontation that could easily have "escalated massively" and left someone seriously injured.

A hot-headed father repeatedly punched another man inside the restaurant during a “vicious and brutal attack” and, minutes later, his son came running in from outside and “brandished” a fearsome machete, Hull Crown Court heard.

Grzegorz Wosiak, 42, of Endymion Street, off James Reckitt Avenue, east Hull, admitted an offence of wounding. His son, Orian Wosiak, 21, also of Endymion Street, admitted possessing a blade on December 11.

Benjamin Donnell, prosecuting, said that trouble erupted at a restaurant in Beverley Road, Hull, shortly after 6pm and problems escalated when Grzegorz Wosiak punched another man three or four times as well as picking up a bottle of alcohol and throwing it towards the man’s head. It did not seem to have hit the man’s head and it smashed on a wall behind him.
