VARANASI: Several workers are feared trapped as a portion of a stone quarry collapsed in the Billi Markundi mining area in Uttar Pradesh's Sonbhadra district on Saturday, officials said.
District magistrate Badrinath Singh, who reached the spot, said rescue teams from two private companies and the Obra Thermal Power Project were carrying out operations, while teams of the NDRF and SDRF were on their way from Mirzapur. Additional machinery

Industrial activity slows to 14-month low in October
Growth in industrial activity, as measured by the Index of Industrial Production (IIP), fell to a 14-month low in October, per data released by the National Statistical Office (NSO) on Monday.
