42 IAS officers shifted, 13 promoted in rejig; Thiyagarajan new Patna DM

PRESENT DM OF PATNA CHANDRA SHEKHAR SINGH HAVE BEEN PROMOTED TO THE SECRETARY RANK, ALONG WITH OTHER 13 OFFICERS OF 2010 BATCH AND HAS BEEN MADE DIV COMMISSIONER
PATNA: In a major shuffle of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, a 2002-batch officer Saravanan M, currently divisional commissioner of Tirhut, Muzaffarpur, has been transferred to the rural development department as its secretary.
The Gaya district magistrate (DM) Thiyagarajan SM, 2011-batch officer, has been made as new DM of Patna.
Present DM of Patna Chandra Shekhar Singh have been promoted to the secretary rank, along with other 13 officers of 2010-batch and made the divisional commissioner of Patna.
The 13 officers, who have been proposed to the ranks of secretary will continue to draw the salary as per the scale of special secretary until January 1, 2026.
As many as 42 IAS officers have been shifted, while five others have been promoted but asked to continue at their current place of postings.
The general administration department (GAD) issues three different notifications regarding promotions and transfers of IAS officers on Saturday. District magistrates of many districts have also been transferred, which is considered important in view of the coming assembly elections, due in October-November this year.
Mayank Barwade (2001-batch), commissioner, Patna, has been shifted to Bihar Education Project Council as its project director. Manish Kumar (2005), Darbhanga commissioner, has been transferred to animal husbandry department as its secretary. Gopal Meena (2007), commissioner, Saran, and Dinesh Kumar Rai (2010), DM, West Champaran, have been shifted to the revenue and land reforms department as secretaries.
