State Govt Will Take Charge Of 108 Ambulance Services: Min

An ambulance service has been started on a pilot basis in Chamarajanagar DINESH GUNDU RAO, State health minister
BENGALURU: The state government will be taking control of the state's 108 ambulance services, bringing an end to its partnership with private firm GVK EMRI, which had been managing the emergency response system since its launch in 2008, health minister Dinesh Gundu Rao said on Sunday.
"The health department has started the ambulance service on a pilot basis in Chamarajanagar and it will soon be expanded across the state. There is new software for the programme too, which is under testing. We are prepared to carry out the 108 operations," Rao said.
