US President Donald Trump began the week with a string of political victories — a breakthrough on stablecoin regulation, fresh tariff moves, and sweeping federal budget cuts.

But what his aides were calling a “week of wins” quickly turned into a storm of controversies, with renewed scrutiny over his past ties to Jeffrey Epstein, tensions with the Federal Reserve, and a rare admission about his health, according to Bloomberg.

A Wall Street Journal report published Monday claimed that Trump once sent Epstein a handwritten birthday note, calling him “a terrific guy” and allegedly including a suggestive remark about “girls.”

'Disgusting fake news'

The White House dismissed the report as “baseless and defamatory,” while Trump labelled it “disgusting fake news.”

On Friday, Trump filed a $10 billion lawsuit against The Wall Street Journal and media mogul Rupert Murdoch.
