LIZ Truss has agreed to "work closely" with the Office for Budget Responsibility in a screeching U-turn.

The PM and Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng met with officials from the spending watchdog after ignoring it last week to roll out their reckless tax-cutting mini-budget.

The meeting appeared to last less than 50 minutes and in a statement the OBR said it will deliver an initial forecast on "the impact of the Government's policies" on October 7.

But the Treasury said it would withhold the report until November 23, when Kwarteng is set to reveal his medium-term plan.
