EUROVISION star Loreen became the first woman to win the contest twice- and put her success down to Sweden's dodgy weather.
The 39-year-old said living in a cold, wet and dark country allowed her to concentrate on her songwriting.
The UK's similar climate did not help entrant Mae Muller though. She finished second to last in 25th place.
Loreen, who also won in 2012, took top spot with track Tattoo. She follows in the footsteps of Ireland's Johnny Logan, the only other singer to triumph twice.
Loreen said: "If we had beaches we'd just go and sit on them.
"We have some sh**ty weather so we're like, 'Hey, let's hang in the studio man'. We don't have anything else to do."
She picked up the trophy in Liverpool from Graham Norton and last year's winners, Ukraine's Kalush Orchestra.
Loreen has not ruled out going for a third win, saying: "It's all about creativity. There shouldn't be a limit on that."
