RISHI Sunak faced derision at Prime Minister's Questions yesterday after saying he was "absolutely shocked" to hear allegations against Tory peer Michelle Mone.
The PM distanced himself from the Ultimo bra tycoon amid claims she made millions from a firm given more than £200million in coronavirus pandemic contracts.
Baroness Mone announced on Tuesday she was temporarily stepping aside "in order to clear her name of the allegations that have been unjustly levelled". Lords authorities confirmed her request for a leave of absence had been granted, but refused to say when it will end.
Mr Sunak told MPs in the Commons: "Like everyone else I was absolutely shocked to read about the allegations.
