A LABOUR MP who was the target of a neo-Nazi murder plot is to stand down, triggering a by-election.
Rosie Cooper announced yesterday she had accepted a job as Chair of Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust.
She has represented her West Lancashire seat for 17 years.
Her statement did not confirm when she would step down but it is understood Labour is preparing for a by-election this autumn.
Labour held the seat with an 8,000 majority in 2019 but the contest will provide a test for both Keir Starmer and new PM Liz Truss.
