HEART attack and stroke patients waited more than an hour and a half for ambulances to arrive last month.
The average wait of 93 minutes for the conditions last month was well above the 18-minute target and the worst on record.
One in 10 were forced to wait more than three and a half hours, according to NHS England figures published yesterday.
The South West was worst hit, with 10% waiting for at least six hours, 39 minutes and 34 seconds.
