IMMIGRATION rules are set to be relaxed by ministers to allow more foreign construction workers to live and work in the UK.
Government advisers are said to have concluded bricklayers, roofers, carpenters and plasterers are among roles that should be added to the Shortage Occupation List.
This would allow companies to hire foreign workers on more than £20,480 - lower than the "skilled worker" threshold of £25,600.
