Fernandes, sporting heavy strapping on his right hand, hauled United to a 4-2 victory against Sheffield United on Wednesday after trailing twice, scoring a double and setting up Rasmus Hojlund's final goal.
The Portugal playmaker has not missed a game through injury since making his United debut in a 0-0 draw against Wolves on February 1, 2020.
