'I want a winning mentality in the changing room'
July 16, 2025
|Brentwood Gazette
BILLERICAY Town manager Gary McCann wants to use the preseason schedule to help build a “winning mentality” in his dressing room.
The Blues hosted Braintree Town at New Lodge side and the National League outfit returned home with a 2-0 victory.
And while McCann was pleased with a number of performances from his players, he was disappointed by the manner that Billericay conceded both goals.
"I ain't one of those managers that take heart out of good performances and good results in preseason," McCann told the club's website.
"I want a winning mentality in the changing room, I don't us to lose any game of football and I want us to have that mindset.
"I was really pleased with the first half performance, I thought that it was really competitive game. We created three or four good opening in the first half and really should have gone in front.
