TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOURSELF
I'm an Australian surfer and café owner based on the west coast. I split my time between the summers in our café and winters chasing waves through Europe and along Ireland's west coast.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU LIVED IN BUNDORAN?
I've lived in and around Bundoran for about 10 years. I first came here in 2013 to compete in the surfing competition during the Sea Session festival and immediately fell in love with the place.
HOW DOES BUNDORAN COMPARE TO OTHER PLACES YOU HAVE VISITED?
It's hard to put your finger on what exactly makes the north west so special but it has a unique rawness in the landscape and the people reflect that but with a humble sincerity that I've rarely come across in the rest of the world.
IN YOUR OPINION, HOW HAS BUNDORAN CHANGED OVER THE YEARS?
Obviously Covid had a huge impact on everyone's lives and because of that we felt loads of demographic and social shifts locally. The working-from-home revolution and focus shift away from the cities really gave an injection of vibrance and energy into the area and with it loads of new faces and fresh ideas. In saying that, I feel like the area has still retained much of its charm but with loads more on offer for tourists, families and locals alike.
