Given that this is Ulysse Nardin, we will say immediately that the OPS here is short for ‘operational,’ not some sort of horological acronym. With that out of the way, the next important note is that this is basically a variation on the Freak One watch launched at Watches and Wonders last year. Ulysse Nardin unveiled this version at Dubai Watch Week and it is basically an attempt to find a sweet spot between fine watchmaking and robust outdoor gear. You might be thinking that this must make the Freak One OPS a bit of an oddball, but a look at the specs is a must given the whole OPS design intent.
