There's been some unfinished romantic business bubbling away in the background between Liam and Chas since their attempt to get together had to finish before it even got started.

Chas' cancer diagnosis put paid to her pursuing things with Liam, and then in swept Ella, who ended up in an on-off relationship with the bumbling village doc.

'Ella also loves how goofy Liam can be and finds his sometimes awkward and bashful side endearing,' says actor Paula Lane, who plays her.
