An Illinois man who once competed on the wholesome game show is charged with gunning down his estranged wife
THE FAMILY FEUD KILLER?

When host Steve Harvey asked him what the biggest mistake he made at his wedding during a January 2020 episode of Family Feud along side his parents and brothers, Tim Bliefnick’s response had the audience gasping. “Said, ‘I do,’ ” he admitted, before clarifying, “Not my mistake. I love my wife! I’m going to get in trouble for that, aren’t I?”

Three years later, he’s in a lot more trouble. On Feb. 23, Rebecca, his 41-year-old estranged wife and the mother of his three sons, was found dead of multiple gunshot wounds in her Quincy, Ill., home. By March 13, Tim — who, with long, unkempt hair and beard, looked shockingly different from his clean-cut, bowtied appearance on the game show — had been arrested and charged with first-degree murder and home invasion in connection with her death. “This brutal crime has had the Quincy community on edge and our residents living in fear,” Police Chief Adam Yates said. And while he cautioned that the investigation was ongoing and reminded everyone that Tim is innocent until proven guilty, he added, “I hope today’s announcement can begin to calm some of those concerns.”
