GPM & Associates transforms a traditional government office into modern, eco-friendly workplace that prioritises employee well-being and sustainable design
-
Located in Ahmedabad, India, this 5000-square-foot workspace transcends traditional office environments by integrating behavioural psychology, cultural traditions, design principles, and ergonomic studies.
The IOCL (Indian Oil Corporation Ltd) office in New Delhi represents a groundbreaking shift in government workspace design, setting a new standard for modern office aesthetics. Departing from conventional office designs, the office is an innovative space that harmoniously blends functionality with environmental consciousness. By integrating natural elements and sustainable materials, the design not only fosters a collaborative work environment but also underscores a commitment to ecological stewardship, earning the prestigious IGBC Platinum rating. This case study explores the office’s unique features and its role in redefining governmental workspaces.
Nested amidst the bustling heart of South Delhi, the IOCL office, perched on the tenth floor of the NBCC building, epitomises a modern transformation of government workspace design. The project’s unique design stands out from the traditional aesthetic of office spaces characterised by bright colours and geometric shapes. Instead, it embraces a palette of soft pastel colours and fluid lines, creating a harmonious integration between the employee workstations and private cabins.
