01 Get your 911 ready for action
Granted, this may not be the most desirable aspect of Porsche ownership, but the fact remains that if your 911 isn’t in great mechanical shape then your 2024 Porsche bucket list is going to stop here. After all, you and your 911 have likely been waiting for spring and the start of the driving season, with its lighter evenings, some warmth, and roads clear of winter grime.
Having been tucked up in the garage over winter, now’s the best time to get your car comprehensively serviced before you head out on the road. Think of it as pre-workout stretching – preventative preparation that’ll ensure your 911’s in the best shape it can be for the coming months. The chances are that you’ll have left your battery on a conditioner, you may have put some fuel-stabilising additive in your tank to prevent the fuel going bad, and may have even taken the time to rotate the tyres to prevent flat spots.
Servicing your 911 post-winter slumber makes so much sense. A specialist will go through the car and make sure it’s tip-top, checking for known, modelspecific issues that may otherwise derail your bucketlist plans. With new fluids for the months ahead, the reassurance that someone’s checked the car from bumper to bumper to ensure everything’s in order means you can enjoy a Porsche that steers, stops and goes as well as it should, with the air-conditioning blowing cool air for those summer drives, too.
This really is a crucial step, which is why it’s the first task on our ‘things to do’ list with your 911 this coming summer.
