Abstract: Acacia fiber acts as a prebiotic for the bacteria which are in the small intestine of the human. Acacia fiber is used as a medicine for irritable bowel syndrome. Acacia fiber maintains blood sugar level and it also reduces cholesterol level in heart which helps in reducing the cardiovascular disease.

Introduction

Acacia gum is derive from the tree of acacia and it is soluble fiber which posses immense health benefits. It has loaded with health-promoting nutrients and soluble fibre. It helps to promote growth of beneficial bacteria in the gut. At least 85% of the beneficial bacteria found in the microbiome, are referred as probiotics and 15% of the pathogenic microbes that could negatively impact the health contribute to a balanced, healthy microbiome. The reason for is that the friendly flora, on which we rely for so many aspects of life support, frequently gets reduced by modern life. Microbiome suffers significantly from factors such as antibiotics in food and the medicine, cleaning procedures, a cleansers and processed meals. Consuming gum arabic on a regular basis for just four weeks resulted in significantly improved bacteria in the intestines.

Health Benefits

Regular consumption of dietary fibre, including gum arabic has positive effects on the metabolism of lipids. It has been discovered that the dietary fiber influences gastric emptying, alters the glycemic index, stimulates satiety and satiation, and facilitates the release of gut hormones and overall contribute to weight management. For countless centuries, people in western used gum arabic freely and without limitations. Short-chain fatty acids are commonly produced during fermentation in the colons of experimental animals like rats and mice as well as humans. These fatty acids offer numerous potential health benefits.
