It’s a fact of life that not all screwdrivers are created equal. In fact, even screwdrivers made for engineering are not always the best for airgun use. Having the correct type can mean the difference between safely removing the screw, or being left with a damaged head, or even worse, a screw so deformed that it needs to be drilled out. Thankfully, having the correct screwdriver need not cost the earth, thanks to those clever people at Wheeler Engineering.

Wheeler has developed a fine array of tools suitable for many aspects of airgun maintenance, several of which have earned their place in my toolbox. Despite this impressive selection, it’s the Space Saver Gunsmithing screwdriver set that comes under scrutiny this month. This set is the smallest available; the largest in the range has no fewer than 88 pieces, although many of these are for specific firearm use, and therefore of limited use for the average airgunner.
