FINAL semester exams in universities and other educational institutions pending since March due to Covid-19 can now be held after the Union home ministry gave its green light on Monday.

“The final term examinations are to be compulsorily conducted as per the UGC guidelines and academic calendar for the Universities and as per the Standard Operating Procedure approved by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare,” the ministry wrote to the higher education secretary.

The ministry’s advisory came on a day a committee formed by the UGC recommended that exams be conducted in universities and colleges across India.
