The association said the branches may be selectively kept open after due consultations with the State government/ authorities to carry out essential transactions such as cash deposits and withdrawals, clearing of cheques, remittances and government transactions from March 23 onwards.
The IBA move comes in the wake of the government taking a decision to allow only essential services to operate in the 75 districts, which have reported confirmed cases or casualties related to Covid-19.
