PHEASANTS’ heads cool rapidly as they prepare to fight - then heat up afterwards, new research by Plymouth scientists shows.
Scientists from the University of Plymouth and the University of Exeter worked together on the study, and used thermal cameras to watch juvenile pheasants, to see how their temperature changed in aggressive interactions that establish the pecking order.
