Two Irish schoolgirls are paving their way to the Olympics to compete as breakdancers.

Katie Talpa, 18, and 16-year-old Holly Lloyd Pete are currently the top two females in the field in Ireland.

And they are gearing up to compete in Russia next month where they will compete against others from across Europe and receive an official Olympic ranking.

Katie, also known as B-Girl Threadz, and Holly, known as B-Girl HLP, have opened up about their intense commitment to breakdancing and how they want to make it more popular – especially for girls.

Katie said: “We train after school until about 9.30pm every weekday and then we train at weekends too.
