GRIEVING Covid relatives last night told of their fury over the latest No10 lockdown parties claims, as Boris Johnson faced further calls to quit.
The outrage came as it was alleged Boris Johnson had a surprise birthday party thrown for him by wife Carrie - just days after the PM warned indoor gatherings were against the rules.
More than 30 officials were said to have gathered for the bash in the Cabinet room for to half an hour in the afternoon of June 19, 2020, according to ITV News.
It is claimed Carrie led staff in a chorus of Happy Birthday while her husband was presented with a cake.
Later, the PM and his wife were said to have hosted family friends in their residence upstairs, in an apparent further breach of the rules.
In the week before the alleged party, Johnson had asked the rest of the country to stick to the guidance. He said: "I urge everyone to continue to show restraint and respect the rules."
But while most of the country did just that – including the Queen, who scaled back her official birthday party celebrations on June 13, 2020 – it appears the PM again ignored his own laws.
Johnson is already fighting for his political survival, as he awaits Sue Gray's report this week into claims of lockdown parties at No10.
