But the PM refused even to meet her and the leaders of Wales and Northern Ireland.

PM dismisses Sturgeon plan to halt spread of new strain
BORIS Johnson has rejected Nicola Sturgeon's plan for new travel restrictions after six cases of the Omicron variant were found in Scotland.
The First Minister wants people who come to the UK from overseas to self-isolate for eight days to halt the spread of the strain.
But her plea to the Prime Minister in a joint letter with Welsh First Minister Mark Drakeford was rejected yesterday by Downing Street.
Sturgeon yesterday confirmed six cases of Omicron had been discovered in Scotland - four in Lanarkshire and two in the Greater Glasgow and Clyde area.
As a UK-wide response to growing concerns, passengers arriving in the UK from 4am today will be required to take a PCR test by the end of their second day and isolate until they receive a negative result.
But Sturgeon called for the four countries of the UK to go further and bring in an eight-day self isolation period for people coming into the UK. She also called on Johnson to convene an emergency Cobra meeting to tackle the growing threat of Omicron.
The First Minister said: “The incubation period for this virus is very often more than two days.
So our view is that it would be sensible on a precautionary basis for these travel rules to be tightened further – that's a view shared by the Welsh Government.
