THE family of a mum facing a £50-a-day electricity bill fear the stress could kill her - and have begged for action to cut energy prices.
Mary Quinn lives in a village with no gas supply so her local council have fitted electric-only heating systems.
But surging energy prices have seen bills rocket for the expensive-to-run Thermoflow heating system, with Mary forking out up to £1400 a month in electric bills.
A massive hike in energy prices has prompted a fuel bill crisis across the UK.
And Mary's family say the resultant bills are destroying families, as she has to go without food to cope with the sky-high fuel costs.
They believe Mary, who has suffered an aneurysm in the past, has endured so much stress from the situation that she could suffer another brain bleed. Her brother, Raymond, said: “She's going for an MRI this month because they think she has another aneurysm and I think that's because of this stress for such a long time.
“I see it because I live just a couple of doors away and I can't get my head round why this hasn't been resolved.
"It's not just affected her - it's affected us as a family.
