“I like the idea of pieces done by hand with intent, at the artisan’s pace,” says Jet Acuzar. In creating such pieces and incorporating them into her own home, she muses, “I like to think of everything in my home as part of a wider collection. Diving into Acuzar’s repository of beautifully intricate, handmade pieces as showcased on her website, The Forewoman, it doesn’t take much time for something to catch one’s fancy, with the timelessness of her creations as part of the encompassing allure. Personally involved in the creation of each of her products, Acuzar reveals a passion for slow craftsmanship and a devoted penchant for detail—in ways underpinned by her own history as her parents are notable patrons of Philippine heritage, being founders of Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bagac, Bataan.
