Glitter That Fits Her

As we celebrate the 10th anniversary of Dato’ Seri Dr Farah Khan’s namesake label, she shares on the brand, and the process of owning a glamorous gown from Farah Khan Couture.

Glitter That Fits Her

There’s something about beaded pieces that exude an aura of luxury. Paired with sumptuous materials like silk, velvet and tulle all combined under the supervision of a keen eye and master craftsmanship, it’s a work of wearable art. And the devil’s in the details, so that must explain why Dato’ Seri Farah Khan’s eponymous label has evolved to create smoking hot couture a decade after its birth.

One could liken Farah Khan’s gowns to modern-day armour for women, and it’s not surprising too, considering the founder of the brand is a warrior woman in every sense. Championing the welfare of several charities (children’s causes are especially dear to her) and juggling a busy corporate life, Dato’ Seri Farah Khan is a real-life wonder woman.

From being founder and president of The Melium Group, which has distribution rights to more than 100 fashion and lifestyle labels, including several food and beverage businesses and even real estate projects, Dato’ Seri Farah Khan already has plenty on her plate, yet she finds the time to dedicate to her namesake fashion label, overseeing all design and brand building exercises as its creative director. Her success shines through her elegant beaded pieces retailing in more than 70 cities, showcasing on runways such as Paris Fashion Week and not too long ago, she was chosen to put her deft touches in redesigning the Malaysia Airlines’ iconic kebaya uniform.
