Why Do You Love The Bad Boy?
Cosmopolitan Sri Lanka|October 2018
Imagine this: Piumi, 25, is scrolling through her phone currently flooded with messages from a variety of guys interested in her. And, really, why not? Shes beautiful, makes logical decisions for the most part and is both strong and affectionate. She wonders who she should reply to and she picks the most unenthusiastic hi from this dude with a James Dean-esq profile picture (ooh, hes cute!). Over the next few days, their conversation intensifies and they decide to meet for coffee. A few dates in and her nights seemingly feel longer when she barely gets a response to her Hey, are you there? Eventually, he does respond with Sorry, was busy, babe before he totally falls off the grid and ghosts her (Sorry, you have been blocked).

Why Do You Love The Bad Boy?
Sounds familiar? Is your dating history full of bad boys that you keep gravitating to over and over again? And, have you ever wondered why you keep choosing said bad boy type? Well, there are a few factors that contribute to your decisions.

Moves like Jagger

He’s got swag and sufficient game to put Chuck Bass to shame. Instead of beating around the bush to get your number, he’ll swoop in with a “Hey, can I give you a call sometime?” The allure of this kind of confidence is just beyond irresistible. With his charming personality, you can’t help but stalk the crap outta his social media profiles. But, in all honesty, he’s an average guy who knows his poses, dress sense and ways to amp up his look.

According to a study by Nicholas Holtzman and Michael Strube of Washington University in St. Louis, those who hold narcissist traits are good at making themselves look better. This doesn’t mean anyone trying to make themselves look better is a narcissist, but if you notice a whole bunch of self-obsessed negative traits along with this one then you should probably be on your guard.
