One day more than 15 years ago, the interior designer Alex Papachristidis found himself at Bergdorf Goodman in New York City. Six months earlier Papachristidis had lost his dog, a bichon frise, and was therefore canineless and on the prowl. “CeCe Kieselstein-Cord was doing a trunk show,” he recalls, “and she had this Yorkie, Tiger, who was the most beautiful creature I had ever seen.” Entranced, Papachristidis inquired after the dog’s breeder, who turned out to be Susan Kanter of Kingsley Yorkies in Farmingville, Long Island.
