''The human body has been evolutionarily designed for surviving in the wild. Our ancestors lived that way and hence, we have a natural affinity for nature and the ability to heal through it. Research supports that spending time with nature significantly improves mental health, cognitive functions such as memory, attention span, creativity, etc, and physical health. Given that individuals are likely to develop a mental illness after exposure to chronically high levels of stress, it has been seen that people from rural areas and smaller cities are less likely to have a mental illness. This is due to the curative powers of nature and anyone who spends more time in the outdoors is likely to have improved nervous system functioning, better mood, increased awareness, longer attention span, better memory, and an enhanceed sense of happiness.
