A Sugar-free cake he could smash his fists into, a splash around the pool with the dogs and Zoom chats with his cousins in England.
This is how little Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor is likely to have spent his first birthday in the land of sunshine and celebrities adopted by his parents.
As for the rest of us? Well, we got to sit in while his mom read – or tried to read – him a story. But Archie is a typical one-year-old. He may be the son of arguably one of the most famous couples on the planet but at this stage he doesn’t care one jot about pedigree and etiquette.
All he cares about is doing what he wants to do – and just because millions of fans on Instagram were watching as Mommy turned the pages on Duck! Rabbit! didn’t mean he had to listen. Or that he had to be interested in only that book, for that matter.
We haven’t seen much of Duke and Duchess of Sussex Harry and Meghan’s little guy since his birth so each glimpse of him is a treat. And we got to glimpse a fair bit of him in the video, shot by Harry – who was rewarded by what sounded like his son calling him “da-da” at the end.
The sweet clip had fans remarking over the similarity between Archie and his father at the same age. “He’s Harry’s twin, wow! King Archie rules!” one follower said.
“This boy is Harry’s carbon copy”, another remarked.
And they’re right – at this stage there isn’t much of Meghan in the little boy. The shape of the face, the close-set eyes, the skin tone, the hint of red hair – Archie is his daddy through and through.
