We Say: Tvs Motors’ First 125cc Scooter Is Here With Huge Appeal For Gen Z

TVS Ntorq 125

Two wheels, engine, nifty screen with smartphone connectivity. Sure the Ntorq won’t win a race at the lights, but hey, at least that Ducatista will shut up about his connected bike. Factor in their prices, and well, the Ntorq does have bragging rights! Don’t mind me – I’m just indulging in some hyperbole. The point I’m trying to make is this: TVS has taken a feature we see on few (and mostly premium) motorcycles — proper smartphone connectivity — and integrated it at an affordable price. We’ve got two pressing questions to answer today. Have they done a good job with the system or is it a gimmick? Secondly, is there more to the scooter than just a fancy screen that will appeal to tech-addicted teenagers?

First things first, let’s get something clear. This is an all-new scooter. No parts have been shared with anything that has come before this. The engine? It’s a 124.79cc motor, with a three-valve head. In terms of output, it makes 9.3bhp and 10.5Nm, and some of that development has happened with the scooters TVS races in rallies like the Raid-de-Himalaya. The Ntorq gets a telescopic front suspension and a gas-filled shock at the rear, a single disc up front and 12-inch wheels.
