Desh 17 April 2023 is an anthology of stories based on the Nine Rasas (‘Nava Rasa’) as mentioned in the ancient Indian texts on Aesthetics. These nine rasas or elements portray the fundamental human emotions or the different states of human mind. The nine stories in this issue are written by well-known contemporary writers including the Sahitya Akademi winning authors Sirshendu Mukhapadhyay, Bani Basu. The issue also carries an essay by Saswati Bhattacharya on the importance and history of Vitamin D. Regular sections like the serialized novel Kanchanfuler Kobi by Masud Ahmad, Mantabya, Granthalok, Kabita, Galpo, Shilpo Sanskriti, Chithipatra, Seshkatha etc are included too.
