Welcome to our Winter Solstice edition!

I love all the seasons, but I especially love this time of year, as the darkness reminds me of the need to tune within to connect with my inner light. So I light lots of candles, slow down, and start to look at what I’m meant to let go of, so I can create more room for something new.  
 
And then, at the Winter Solstice, I look at what new visions and dreams I’m meant to nourish with the increasing light from the sun, and then around New Year, I meditate and do lots of journaling, where I’m receiving guidance from Spirit in how I’m meant to manifest these dreams in the coming year.

It’s been incredible to notice how quickly Planet Earth has responded since the worldwide slowdown of human activity – the air pollution levels have dropped, dolphins are swimming again in the canals in Venice, goats have been seen walking around empty town centres in Wales, a herd of deer were spotted grazing the lawns on a housing estate in east London, and an alligator had a whole beach to himself in South Carolina. 

And just as nature has been given some breathing space from human activity, we too have been given a time to pause, where we can reflect upon what we want to change in how we look after our inner wellbeing – and the wellbeing of our communities and our planet.

Autumn is my favourite time of year, as it invites me to look at what’s      meant to fall away in my life, and as I start to identify those aspects of my life that I’ve outgrown, I feel myself getting clearer and more peaceful. 

So, what are you meant to let go of this autumn? As you answer that question, and take steps to shed the old, trust that this is a sacred process that helps you create room for something new to enter your life.

As the trees slowly turn into an amazing display of red, orange and gold, I’m reminded of how it soon is time to go inward, for deeper reflection. It is as if Mother Earth is showing me, through her beauty, that letting go and slowing down is a sacred process too, as it helps me to connect more deeply with my soul.

I love it when summer arrives, bringing with it a renewed zest of life, and just as I am writing this I have a tiny puppy lying here snoozing blissfully next to me, being the perfect metaphor of what life is all about. She is such a bundle of joy, with long floppy ears, a little white tail that seems to wag all by itself, and she is always HAPPY. So happy – about everything! “Oh, we are going out into the garden, I LOVE the garden. Oh, we are going indoors, I LOVE the indoors. Oh, we are having a cuddle, I LOVE cuddles.” Everything she is presented with is joyful, and every person she meets is her friend. Life is just an endless journey of more fun, cuddles, sleep and adventure. I do believe the word “dog” left a clue in it, as it becomes GOD when spelled backwards. Perhaps God handed them the secret key to a happy life? Be completely loyal, happy, trusting, loving and expect everyone to love you back. Because what’s not to love?
