President Ramaphosa’s Tweet on Mmabatho Montsho’s award in February strirred up some hot discussions and grievances filmmakers in South Africa and other African countries have had towards government agencies and ministries’ support  for local filmmakers. On the other hand, we discuss strides made by other filmmakers like Zambia’s Cassie Kabwita, Ramsey Nouah, Elkanah Luam amongst others and we look deeply at Netflix’s first African Original Series, Queen Sono. We discuss Bhai’s Café, a great South Africa-Bollywood feature film that premiered on Vallentine’s Day.  Africa is really making strides in making international impact in the film industry. This has been an exciting period, full of events and activities relating to media, arts and film. Our focus in this Issue is on breath-taking stories of famous actors, producers, directors and cinematographers. We review a few premieres that happened and the SOTAMBE Film Festival which we attended in full. Other festivals include the Uganda Film Festivals happening in the last week of November with exciting feature films and shorts. We draw your attention on blobkbuster international  movies from Hollywood and Bollywood. Africa does produce a lot of movies and series every week but less information is available. In this issue we start with reviews of films produced in the recent past, telling African stories. What really stands out is that these movies reveal the true spirit of “UBUNTU” that exists on the African soil.
We also had some conversations with prominent actors and actresses in Zambia who share their backgrounds and why they love Film like we do. If you’re a film maker, we have resources for you to take advantage of including film festivals that you can participate in.
